Myra Rutledge's pregnant daughter, Barbara, was killed by a hit and run accident in Washington, DC. The police knew who was driving the car but couldn't do anything about it because the driver was a diplomat from China.

Living for over a year in depression because of Barbara's death, Myra discovers that there are many women who have had crimes committed against them and nothing has been done about it. This piece of knowledge gives her a goal and purpose which lifts Myra out of her depression. With the help of Barbara's best friend Nikki, and Myra's live-in boyfriend, Myra forms the Sisterhood. The Sisterhood consists of women who received no help from the police when they were victims and who are now going to get the revenge they crave.

WEEKEND WARRIORS by Fern Michaels is a book to stay far away from. There is very little storyline and what there is of one is ridiculous. Myra's live-in boyfriend just happens to be an MI5 agent from England who was sent to the United States by The Queen because he was in danger in Britain. And it's a good thing that he is an ex-agent, because that's how he learned all about computers and spying on people, which is just the skill that the Sisterhood needs.

Myra also has millions of dollars to finance this project and she's able to pay the rent for all the members of the Sisterhood, and is also able to give them a little extra money for themselves. And it really helps things along when Barbara, the dead daughter, returns as a ghost to help her friend Nikki solve her problem with her boyfriend. The author simply shoveled too many preposterous ideas into this book.

At the first Sisterhood meeting, the ladies choose the order of the Sisters who they will help avenge. WEEKEND WARRIORS just deals with the first of them so I suspect this means that there will be about seven more books in this series.

The revenge that is taken is entirely illegal, and of course the Sisters are never caught in their activity - which in this premiere case, consists of castrating the men who raped one of the women.

This book is violent, filled with anger and is completely illogical. I can't say anything positive about it. Why author Fern Michaels, a popular author of romance novels, felt it necessary to write this, is beyond me.

Stay away from WEEKEND WARRIORS. It took me all of four excruciating hours to read. Four hours that I now wish I had spent doing anything else.
