As the internet's popularity continues to grow, there are all sorts of scam artists who are using the internet in their cons. In addition to the ever popular email Nigerian letter scams that require you to provide your bank account and for a small fee will move millions of dollars into your account and the ever-popular personal body enhancers, scam artists are also using the internet to give them the background they need for a mark. Therefore, the Sunshine State has scam artists who distract you on a date, while their counterpoints rob your house or who rob the houses during the funerals of the recently deceased or who try to sell you a car that is not theirs to sell.

Luckily there is Serge Storms and his partner in crime, Coleman, to the rescue. They have teamed up with PI Mahoney (who describes the scenes around him in the hard boiled noir tradition) to deal with the scam artists. As one would expect, Serge Storms' solutions to the crimes are unique and original.

As always, Tim Dorsey's latest addition to the Serge Storm series is amusing. Serge provides an individual understanding of Florida's history and supplies his own tourist stops. (While not all of his stops are the traditional destinations of tourists, at least his have short lineups.) In this book, Serge is fascinated by the history and role of Tupperware in modern America. As well as planning the ultimate Tupperware party, Serge is also trying to find a way for the Democrats and the Republicans to get along. He is shocked that, when he finds the perfect candidate for both parties to support, they do not agree that the candidate is quite as perfect as he does. Even though Serge is a psychopath with a skewed understanding of mainstream culture, it is always interesting to see how he is baffled by people's behaviors.

As with all of the books in the Serge Storm series, TIGER SHRIMP TANGO will likely delight both current and new fans. Tim Dorsey balances the right blend of crime, mystery, humor and zaniness to a very special and engaging effect.
