Former Miami Dolphin football player Zach Chasteen has every reason to be upset. He has just finished serving a two-year sentence at a Florida penitentiary on trumped-up charges and now that he is out, he is still having a bad day. Hitmen want to have him killed; his Taíno friend (yep, you read that right TAH-EE-NOH) friend Boggy has sold off all of his possessions including his home and his boats, and someone has stolen his identifications. He will need those papers if he wants to go to the Bahamas and to hook up with his girlfriend, magazine editor Barbara Pickering, who is out there waiting for him. He will need to be creative and find a way to get there.

When Zach arrives at Harbour Island he sees that his past has not left him and that someone has a score to settle with him. That is no problem. Chasteen has a score to settle with that person himself and someone will pay. He will encounter some colorful characters on his way, most of whom are trying to stop him in reaching his goal. But after spending time in jail for something he did not do, he is not interested in being Mr Nice Guy.

Newspaper columnist Bob Morris takes a stab with his first novel at an entertaining romp guaranteed to make you smile as the story moves along. At first I was ready to hate this book mainly because of the use of a Taíno Indian in the storyline. Anyone who knows their Caribbean history knows what happened to that indigenous race of people against the Spaniards. But when Morris provides a 'serious' tongue-in-cheek plus plausible explanation he won me over. Any author who can successfully pull that off is OK by me. BAHAMARAMA is a winner because it does not take itself too seriously. So lighten up and enjoy the show. You will not regret it.
