Robert Spangle is a piece of work. The unluckiest luckiest man in the world, he had everything going for him as he had perfectly planned, until a fluke did him in. On December 30, 1978 he murdered his wife and his two teenage kids in cold blood and managed to convince the police that his wife had snapped, killed the children before actually killing herself. Spangle had planned it all up to the last detail, just so that he could marry his mistress, Sharon Cooper. The police had no reason to doubt his tale, so life went on. But when he least expects it, he will be paying the piper in spades.

His marriage to Sharon Cooper is not all it was cracked up to be. Sharon is suffering from emotional problems and it is too much for him to handle. They divorce and Spangle then marries Donna Sundling, an aerobics instructor devoted to him. The marriage is short-lived after she 'accidentally' falls to her death at Colorado's Grand Canyon -- Robert's favorite spot. The police, once again, do not suspect him of murder since it all seems to be rather straightforward. She slipped. She fell. Oh well. Once again Spangle gets another lucky break, but now it will backfire on him. Big time.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, his second wife moves in with him as a paying roommate. A year after Donna's death plunge, Sharon kills herself (this one is for real). The police once again work the case and they think this is a bit too much and decide to do a thorough investigation. They will discover things that will turn their stomach and they finally will arrest him for the slaughter of his family 15 years ago. Is this the end of the story? Guess again.

In MARRIED TO MURDER, Robert Scott unravels the life of Robert Spangle by going through court documents, witness testimony, interviews, and public records to give a detailed account into the life of this monster and his victims. The strongly-detailed accounting by the author is well-structured and paced and guaranteed to catch readers' attention as the case goes to trial. After all of this, there is still one whopper left inside the life of Spangle. Whatever happens to him will not matter -- he is already doomed. Don't waste this opportunity, give this true crime book a chance.
