Aaron Tucker, freelance writer and househusband, is getting ready for his 25th reunion, when his attorney wife, Abby, tells him that she thinks 8 year old Leah needs a pet and a gecko would be perfect. Aaron doesn't have time to think about this when she pushes him out the door and tells him to have fun.

Arriving at the venue with a friend from high school days, they run into the class vamp, Stephanie Jacobs, still as beautiful as she was in high school. Aaron, is not attracted to her. He is very happily married and will do nothing to jeopardize that, but his friends tease him about her anyway.

During the reunion, Stephanie received a phone call telling her that her husband, famed right wing lobbyist, Louis Gibson, has been found stabbed to death in the apartment of his current bimbo, an upwardly nubile government secretary . Crazylegs Gibson was always an annoying sod, and Aaron can't believe that Stephanie married him.

She prevails upon Aaron to find her husband's killer, because the DC police are on the verge of arresting her for the murder. Meanwhile, Aaron is coping with the normal goings on at home, with his 12 year old son who has Asperger's and his drama queen 8 year old daughter, and the gecko...oh, and don't forget the ex-client of Abby's who has recently been released from jail.

If you are looking for laugh out loud fun, this book does not provide it. What it does provide, is gentle humor, unexpected one-liners, gentle characters, and an ending out of left field. This is a worthy successor to FOR WHOM THE MINIVAN ROLLS.
