John Taylor is a detective with some special abilities that enable him to be very successful at finding things. Joanna Barrett, a beautiful and successful business woman hires John to find her missing daughter. The catch? The girl has disappeared into the Nightside -- hell in the middle of London where it is always the wee small hours of the morning. You can walk beside myths, drink with monsters and even time travel in the Nightside. Nothing is what it seems. John was born in the Nightside and in the Nightside he becomes a warlock, a magus, a con man, a trickster, a hero and a villain -- all depending on who you ask. He left the Nightside five years ago swearing he would never return, but someone needs his help and John has always had a soft heart.

I was finished with this little gem before I knew it -- that is how smoothly it is written. The streets of the Nightside are dark and gritty and Green invites the reader to travel along with John and Joanna in their search for her daughter. The novel is filled with colorful characters doing creepy and outlandish things. Green amuses and fascinates the reader with his descriptions of the imaginative world of the Nightside.

Fans of the Jim Butcher series will enjoy this novel. Iım looking forward to my next visit to the Nightside.
