Jonas Lamb knows he has not lived an exemplary life. He has had multiple marriages, gone into bankruptcy, owed some money, and is often watching his step. His biggest asset is that he has a deep sense of integrity that is beyond compare and he always tries to do the right thing and fulfill on his promises.

In R. J. Kaiser’s latest novel, he is given an opportunity to reconnect with his son, Patrick. Dr. Mayne is a scientist who quite accidentally discovered that his genetically engineered corn could help make the world’s fuel problem obsolete. He does not know where to go with this and he goes to his father for help in patenting the design and bringing in some needed capital. All his life, Jonas regretted the way he left things with Patrick’s mother and would like to reconcile with her even if it is only as friends. Tess Vartel was Jonas second wife and the one he truly loved. Their marriage was annulled due to unforeseen circumstances and he has been unable to forgive himself for the hurt he unwittingly gave her. He knows things could never be the same, but he is a hopeless romantic. He wants to help his son in order to have a relationship with him; if Tess is included it will just be gravy. When Patrick asks for Jonas’s help, he does not hesitate and the adventure is no about to begin.

BLACK SHEEP is an outrageous comedic thriller with more colorful characters that you can imagine. They range from Jonas’s buxom, tarot-reading mistress all the way down to his vindictive stepchildren from his last marriage. Everyone wants a piece of Jonas and he just needs to figure out which one is good and which one is not. Foreign assassins and the U. S government will chase him wanting the formula that Dr. Mayne has created. Patrick is going to have his own hands full when he meets a spy named Van Hooten and a group of eco-terrorists who are unaware of the doctor’s contribution to mankind.

This novel is a pleasant surprise and you will definitely enjoy. My apologies for ruining the surprise, but how else would someone recommend this book. Oh, well. Sit back and join the fun.
