Stephanie Plum and Lula are back performing fugitive apprehension. Lula, a former prostitute, has left that profession and aids Steph in some of her escapades. This time it begins with Punky Balog. Unfortunately, Punky is buck naked and drenched with vaseline which makes capture a bit of an art.

A crisis situation (not a rare occasion) calls Stephanie to her parent's home. The overburdened home hosts Stephanie's parents, Grandma Mazur, Steph's pregnant, divorced sister and sis's two kids. This home is enough incentive to keep Steph going to work. If she couldn't pay the rent, she would need to live in this mess.

The next assignment is to find and rescue Samuel Singh. Ranger will be her helpmate. Ranger and Joe Morelli are the main men in Stephanie's life, with Joe being the prime candidate at this moment.

Steph goes undercover at Singh's work place and then proceeds to follow a lead to Las Vegas. Because she has been threatened, she takes an entourage with her, mainly Lula and Connie.

Lula is experimenting with diets that have all the earmarks of Weight Watchers and Atkins Protein diets. For any of you that have exposure to either of these, be prepared to guffaw with some head nodding recognition. In Lula's world, if you SHARE food, it IS a snack. I do like the way that girl thinks!!

Grandma Mazur was not present enough for me. I do enjoy this character. Joe Morelli's mother brings food (often) and Joe's Grandma Bella can cast a great hex. Bella is not shy about doing so.

For those of you that are "Stephanie Fans," be prepared to enjoy another installment of this New Jersey girl's adventurous life. Lorelei King is the reader.
