The three Blackbird sisters are back! Nora, Libby and Emma are still coping with the realization that their parents have left the country due to tax evasion.

These ladies need to earn a living in order to save the farm they inherited. Nora stepped up to the plate in the first book of the series. She became a society writer for one of the local rags. Widowed two years, she joins her two sisters in this category as they have been widowed also. The rumor is that these Blackbird women tend to marry bad boys who die young.

Libby is pregnant and contemplating a variety of birthplaces and methods. In addition, she concerns herself with how to make a belly cast mold that will eventually become a serving dish. Emma loves horses and ranching; she also has her unique characteristics. Don't close your eyes because these three ladies are on the move and you won't want to miss any of their activities.

Nora's former highschool flame, Flan Cooper, is suspect in his wife's death. She was found, dead, in the pool. Laura, the deceased, and Nora had an altercation the evening before her death. A party was thrown at the Cooper home because patriarch Oliver Cooper was nominated for a Washington post. Nora was in attendance as a reporter and also as a family friend. Even though the money was tight, Nora always looked terrific. She wore her Grandmother's vintage clothing from her exclusive collection.

The solution comes at the end of the story and oh, what fun, getting there. Two people that especially are highlighted in this multi cast of characters are Sidney and Michael. Sidney is a not too likable jeweler. I can definitely picture him from the author's descriptions. Since Nora needs information from him, she must put up with close encounters to his beloved cat. What a hilarious trooper she is because she has a real allergy to cats. If you have read the first book in the series (How to Murder a Millionaire), you remember Michael. His family has connections with the mob. He is a reality composite of an interesting counterpart for Nora. His sometimes-rough exterior and gentle vulnerability present a great combination.

All I can say is, Philadelphia - look out!! The Blackbird sisters are having their due.
