There are readers that seem happy to be waiting until the midnight hour before trying any of Michelle Spring’s novels. She has already published five novels and they just keep getting better and better as they continue to progress. Each one of the books give a unique insight of Laura Principal, a former academician now working as a private investigator, but never a complete picture. Part of the fun of this series is learning something new about the character. She has never regretted her decision to leave teaching and after reading this book you will see why. Once you read IN THE MIDNIGHT HOUR, you will finally learn what everyone should be talking about.

Twelve years ago, the four-year-old son of world traveler and adventurer Jack Cable vanished. The family and the police have spent years trying to find the child of this famous couple, but they have yet to prove successful. One day while walking on the square, Olivia Cable notices a young musician playing for an audience. As she moves closer, she notices his facial disfigurement and a remarkable likeness to her son. Jack is not sure whom she found, but he does not want his wife to be taken advantage of. He hires Laura to serve a bodyguard and to try to learn more about the boy’s past.

At first, things start to go all right as they learn more about each other. Liam has no recollection of his past and cringes at the mention of his childhood. It does not appear that he wants anything, but Laura is afraid that Olivia may be in for heartbreak. When every thing is finally revealed at the end, nothing will be the same. Secrets and lies have nothing on what happens next. It will change these people’s lives forever in unimaginable ways. Do not keep yourself in the dark; try this or any of the other Michelle Spring novels. You will not be disappointed.
