Henry Pierce is "Chasing the Dime" trying to develop a smaller computer. When the novel opens, he has broken up with his lover, who has also quit Amedeo Technologies, Pierce's firm, which is on the edge of a technological breakthrough. His new phone number, apparently belonged to Lilly, a beautiful young prostitute, who has disappeared.

Pierce is pretty much the techno-nerd with no life other than that of work. The firm is at a critical juncture, but Henry drops everything and tries to find the girl. His search brings him into the world once inhabited by his murdered sister, a world of pimps, thugs, and johns.

This is a stand-alone novel, not part of Connelly's famed Harry Bosch series. His characters are better developed than most thriller characters, but the storyline is not very coherent. However, Jonathan Davis is a fine reader and brings life to the characters and the story. If you are a fan of Michael Connelly (I am not) or a fan of well done audiobooks, then go get this one. It will make a long drive seem shorter
