The bombing of the Getty Museum killed a gifted teacher and a ten year old student, Jason Redding. Jason's uncle, Edmond Sweetwater, a famed terrorist tracker is Jason's uncle. He is believes John Dantes is the bomber and causes his capture.

Dr Sylvia Strange, a forensic psychologist, is called to Los Angeles to interview Dantes. She is still upset by the suicide of one of her patients and is particularly vulnerable to Dantes' machinations.

Dantes admits to a number of bombings but claims he is innocent of the Getty one. There have been a series of bombings while he is incarcerated. Authorities believe he knows who the bomber is and hope that he will divulge the identity in his interviews with Strange.

Strange is convinced of Dantes' innocence...that he is being made a pawn by an unknown predator. It becomes a contest of wills between Srrange and Dantes with the mysterious "M" who is set out to destroy the infrastructure of Los Angeles.

The suspense builds up from our first introduction to Dantes and "M" never knowing who will be successful and when. The characters are developed in depth giving the reader insight into their motives and moods.

The reader's journey into the dark underground world of Los Angeles is graphic and truly terrifying. Woven into the story are references to Dante's Inferno which compare Dante's Hell with the scenario "M" has created for Los Angeles. This is a truly gripping story with the reader taken on an exhilarating and terrifying ride with the outcome in doubt..
