J. D. Robb is the pseudonym of prolific author Nora Roberts. She crosses several literary genres with this romantic, science fiction police procedural series with New York Police and Security Division no-nonsense Lieutenant Eve Dallas; her extremely rich and sexy husband, Roarke; and a strong supporting cast of characters. Fans will welcome this latest novel, others might be curious to learn about this unique series.

A self-righteous group of vigilantes calling themselves The Purity Seekers are targeting on criminals who prey on children. This consortium has developed a technology that infects the criminalís computer with a virus that affects the human brain killing the individual. What the group failed to consider is that some of their victims will turn aggressive lashing and possibly killing innocent people. When one of Eve's inner circle gets injured by one of the Purity Seekers victims, Eve will move hell and high water to find out those responsible for her friendís injuries. She will come against odds with her husband but at the end she gets her man with some additional twists as well.

Roberts knows how to entertain her readers with lots of action, romance and humor. These characters have been around for quite a while and it is nice to be part of the camaraderie all of the characters change. If you have not read any book in this series before, what has been stopping you? It will be the best couple of hours you will have reading a book. This novel marks the return of Ceremony in Deathís now sixteen-year-old Jamie Lindstrom who will use his computer expertise to help Eve and her staff. It also marks a special moment in one of the supporting characters who will go through a life change that will leave Dallas dumb struck. Something that is very hard to do. There is the usual gags and action as well as all those cool toys Roarke seems to have. This series is a lot of fun and this book does not disappoint. When does Nora Roberts find to time to write all those great novels? Well, you cannot mess with perfection; just try this latest work. Ooops, too late, a new book has come out.
