Keith Miles (Edward Marston, who also writes as Conrad Allen) brings back Alan Saxon after an absence of ten years. Since his winnings on the professional golf circuit are in decline, Saxon is looking for another way of earning his livelihood. He thinks he¼s found the ideal job: designing golf courses. And since the one is currently working on is in Bermuda, and his daughter Lynette happens to be between terms at Oxford, it also presents the opportunity for some long neglected father-daughter bonding.

The best laid plans start going awry at the airport, when Jessica Hadlow, his daughter¼s friend and companion for the trip is appalled to discover they¼re not flying first class! The next disaster is the ride to the resort from the airport, when the driver makes it painfully obvious that this job is beneath his contempt. Once at the resort, Saxon¼s partner, the always anxious Peter Fullard, seems at the brink of a nervous breakdown while recounting the woes the construction project has hit. Trouble deepen when a body if found on the golf course. And the reunion between father and daughter is quite what was expected either.

Keith Miles presents an excellent mystery. Plenty of twists and turns keep the reader guessing about the identity of the villain. The characters are very well developed, and the elements of golf and resort management give the story an added depth, without bogging down the uninitiated. Bermuda Grass is highly recommended.
