Before we even begin, there is a warning. Remove all chocolate from your home and I do speak from experience! There are descriptions and flavors mentioned that will have you heading for your chocolate stash.

With that warning in place, on to the story. Lee McKinney has left her life in Texas and settled in Michigan with her Aunt Nettie. She keeps the books at her aunt's chocolate business and her goal is to eventually take the CPA review exam. The chocolate business is good and Aunt Nettie has contracted to make chocolate cats for Clementine Ripley's party. Clementine, even though she was known to be very wealthy, was a slow payer last year so Lee determines that she must have cash in hand this year as she delivers the chocolate delights. This is no easy task but it is finally accomplished.

Lee adds humor to this cozy when she becomes excited or nervous, she inserts the wrong word or phrase, giving everything quite a different meaning. When she sets eyes on long ago heart-throb Joe Woodyard, who was the lifeguard that all the younger girls thought was gorgeous, she said he looked familiar but didn't recognize him with his clothes on. Her speech, in times of anxiety, is never a better choice.

Lee has an opportunity to work at Clementine's party and this will allow her to see the inside of the Ripley mansion. The lady of the house has a major problem that implicates Lee and her aunt. There is a murder! Later, Aunt Nettie's home is burglarized and an investigation commences. A syringe is found and it is determined that cyanide poisoning in some chocolate is the cause of death. Will you be able to identify who the murderer is before the end of the book?

Chocolate facts and a chocolate quiz are inserted. What a delightful addition to this book and I will leave you with a teaser. One of the questions is: "The people from which country eat the most chocolate?" I am not going to tell you the answer but I am going to go eat some chocolate.
