Tim Dorsey is a very funny man. SHARK SKIN SUITE is the latest in the Serge Storms series set in Florida. One year prior to the main action, Serge had a brief fling with Brook Campanella. After the fling, Brook becomes a lawyer and Serge watches tons of legal movies and decides he, too, wants to be a lawyer (but he can't be bothered with law school).

They then become the heroes in this zany legal/courtroom thriller. The villains are real estate companies, mortgage issuers, corporate conglomerates and law firms. It helps that Brook specializes in foreclosure law. A major class-action suit she's trying looks likely to succeed and the real estate interests seem willing to go to any length to prevent that. These villains naturally give Dorsey plenty of ammunition for his wit, and so does the cast of characters including lawyers and judges, hit men, and various nasty people whom Serge dispatches in various ways. Dorsey uses that ammunition very well to keep the reader amused while also keeping him or her turning the pages to find out what will happen next.

I haven't read Dorsey before this, but I will be looking for his earlier books.
